Power to the people

Bonjour tout le monde,
Il y a quelques temps, avec le délicieux, nous sommes allés dans une brocante de bobos où nous sommes tombés complètement amoureux d'une affiche hallucinante. Un genre d'impression couleur sur panneau rigide qui ressemblait à une pochette de 33 tours des années 70. On a demandé le prix au type, qui nous a répondu vite fait, au dessus de l'épaule comme ça, qu'elle n'était pas à vendre... Bon, j'ai juste réussi à voler une photo avec mon téléphone...

Few weeks ago, with my delicious, we went to a vintage fair and we badly fall in love with a king size poster put against a wall. It was a kind of color print on a strong board and looked like a vinyl sleeve from the seventies. We asked the guy for the price of this amaizing picture but he aswered, smiling with irony, that it wasn't for sale. Fair enough...All the same, I managed to take a "paparazzi" snapshot of it !

Quelques jours plus tard, j'étais encore imprégnée de ce visage alors j'ai commencé à chercher sur Google Images. En regardant la photo de plus près, vous pourrez lire les mots "POWER - TO THE - PEOPLE" écrits en rouge sur fond noir. Et puis, ce que vous ne pouvez pas voir, en bas du poster, il y a inscrit "POWER and EQUALITY", ce qui m'a bien aidé dans ma recherche car, Oh joie, j'ai pu retrouver l'image en question ! Alors je me suis dit : tu n'aurais probablement pas pu te la payer cette affiche, mais rien de t'empêche de la refaire toi-même !

A couple of days after this, I still had this strong portrait in my mind so I started to search on Google Images... If you have a closer look on the picture, you can read several words written in red on black backgroung "POWER - TO THE - PEOPLE". Plus, at the bottom of the poster, that you actually can't see, there was the slogan "POWER and EQUALITY". It helped a lot for my search and, lucky me, I finally found it !  Then I said to myself : you probably couldn't have afforded it but why not reproducing it yourself !

Suite à d'autres recherches, il semblerait que ce soit le visage d'Angela Davis, militante communiste et pour les droits de l'homme américaine, candidate à la Maison Blanche en 1980 et 1984. (Merci Wikipédia...). Mais je n'en suis pas vraiment sûre.

After more investigation, it could be Angela Davis, american communist leader, fighting for human rights and running for the White House in 1980 and 1984. But still, I'm not a hundred per cent sure of myself.

Ah je vois que les étagères à briques se font toujours! ça me ramène en arrière du temps d'Angela...(maintenant j'ai banalement des meubles de distributeur)
